Green House DRC is a company specialised in the cultivation and extraction of species of plants with beneficial dietary and medicinal properties. We lease land from rural farming communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and employ farmers from those same communities, enabling them to earn income without risking a failed crop (season).

Genetics

Our experts identify, catalog, preserve and propagate indigenous Congolese landraces. In collaboration with GH Medical we aim to identify each of many hundreds of active compounds in landraces and cultivated strains. We strive to find the ideal combination of cannabinoids and other phytochemicals for each disease indication. Our ultimate goal is to create medicinal cannabis strains that are specific to a particular diseases or a patient’s individual needs.

Farming

The production of medicinal-grade essential oils required the production of standardized, uniform crops. At Green House DRC we have decades of experience with the production of medicinal-grade cannabis. In DRC, we train local farmers to produce crops that meet the highest international standards for export and the production of medicine.

Training

Cannabis-based medicine works because it interacts with the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system was recently discovered to balance the most crucial regulatory processes in our body and thus to protect us from many diseases. With the endocannabinoid system a new discipline of medicine was born that focuses on restoring balance or homeostasis in our bodies. Green House DRC works with Congolese Universities and Hospitals to educate health care professionals and develop a new infrastructure for cannabis-based medicine.

Research

Green House DRC aims to provide affordable and natural medicine to those who need it most. With financial support from the Stain Hunters Foundation and scientific support from GH Medical, Green House DRC strives to develop plant-based medicine that can be locally sourced and produced in a low-cost, low-tech environment. For each disease indication, Green House DRC works with the world’s foremost clinical experts to formulate medicine and test these in clinical trials.
